FAQ.

How does Aveliox detect water leaks?
We integrate directly with smart meters provided by your utility company (via our data partners) to pull interval consumption data. By analyzing off-hour usage and continuous baseline flow, our algorithms can detect a running toilet or faulty flapper within 24-48 hours, long before the monthly bill arrives.
Do I need to install hardware in my units?
No. Aveliox is a pure software solution. We leverage the smart meters that your utility companies have already installed. We connect via API to aggregate and analyze the data securely, meaning zero capital expenditure for hardware installation.
What property management software do you integrate with?
We currently offer out-of-the-box integrations with AppFolio, RealPage, Entrata, Yardi, RentManager, and Buildium. Aveliox syncs your unit directory automatically and can push maintenance alerts directly into your PMS as actionable work orders.
How does HVAC short-cycling detection work?
When an HVAC unit is failing (e.g., low refrigerant or a clogged filter), it tends to turn on and off rapidly—known as short-cycling. By analyzing the high-frequency power spikes associated with compressor startups across the unit's electrical meter profile, we can flag anomalous behavior indicative of preventative maintenance needs.
Is tenant data private?
Absolutely. We do not monitor specific tenant activities. We only analyze aggregate mathematical telemetry data (gallons per hour, kWh per hour) securely routed from the utility provider to identify mechanical anomalies. We comply with all SOC2 and local data privacy regulations.
